Lessons at Corralitos Ranch
Corralitos Ranch is a historic, working cattle operation known for its traditional ranching values and its acclaimed Brangus herd. The Ranch is managed by fourth-generation cattleman, Ross Foster. The property spans massive stretches of southern New Mexico, located near the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds. Lessons take place in a Casita near a lovely heard of Zebu.

Who is a good candidate for voice lessons?
Singing is for everyone! Maybe you (or your child) are singing in a choir, or pursuing an education/career in vocal music. Maybe you are trying to feel more confident on stage at your local karaoke or open mic night. Maybe you're just exploring new hobbies or seeking to spark an old passion. I have even taught music educators who are looking for more insight into vocal music for the sake of their students or themselves. As a teacher, wherever you are at, I will meet you there. I teach beginning to advanced students of all ages.
It depends on the student! For younger students, shorter lessons are a great way to get started, then we can increase to longer lessons over time. To properly assess whether your child would enjoy lessons, go to the "Contact" page to schedule a trial lesson!
What genres do you teach?
Lessons are customized to the student's goals and that includes song choice! Learning the proper techniques of healthy and sustainable singing will help students sing every genre, though I focus on classical, operatic, musical theatre and popular music.
Where are local lessons?
In Person lessons are available at Blair's home at The Casita on Corralitos Ranch. If you live in the greater Las Cruces area, lessons are available at your home as long as you have a tuned and functioning piano or keyboard.
I'm already a singer, how can lessons benefit me?
Proper vocal technique isn't just for improving how you sound, it actually helps with longevity and stamina. Professional singers are expected to sing for hours a day, which can make the voice hoarse and tired. Day after day, this can become unsustainable. Learning proper technique takes the strain off the vocal chords. Furthermore, for those students who it would benefit to learn how to read music, we can work on sight reading. This is especially useful to those who sing in choirs.
